#ShoutOutForTeachers – One month on!
We launched our #ShoutOutForTeachers campaign over a month ago and have been overwhelmed with positive responses on social media! A teacher’s job can be immensely difficult and we wanted to encourage parents to #ShoutOutForTeachers to provide some positive recognition for the great job they do every day.
Here’s a look at some of the fantastic comment’s we’ve seen:
“I’d like to give a special shout out to my daughter’s Year 2 teacher Mrs Young. She was an absolute rock to both me and my daughter during a very difficult year. She has 2 daughters of her own and yet you could see her passion for our school, Gretton Primary and the amount of time she put in it for her pupils and also their families.” Sarah Whitney
“I would absolutely love to say thank you to a wonderful TA….Mrs Nightingale from Highfields Primary. She always has a smile and a warm welcome in the mornings and I know that she cares about each and every one of the children she looks after including both of my children. I just think she is a wonderful asset to the school.” Sarah Louise Reardon
“My son’s teacher Ms Berryman in Year 2 at Fairway Infants in Copthorne. She is the most amazingly patient, insightful and dedicated teacher. She clearly has a wonderful rapport with her pupils and in turn they adore her. So do I. As a parent I can never thank her enough for how she’s helped my son.” Liz Griffiths
Some even tagged their teachers into their posts – and made their day!
“Jenny Carter, for always looking after and encouraging my Dom when he was small and not so keen on going to school…he still remembers you now!” Tash Manning – Parent
Jenny Carter responded, “Thank you so much, this actually made me tear up a little bit! Been having a hard time at work this year and this means a lot. Dom is a star and glad to always see such your posts about a happy little boy! It honestly means so much, the kids are the reason I’m in teaching and it’s such a great feeling to know that you’ve made an impact and helped shape them into the fab person they are growing up to be!
One lady recognised that we were trying to create some positive recognition…
“Miss Walker of Woodlands Primary School Nursery in Carnoustie. She is a lovely lady who has helped my daughter overcome her anxiety and separation issues. My daughter will miss her greatly when she makes the move up to school. We are very quick to criticise, but not to compliment and praise.” Laura Wood
And some people looked back to teachers they had when they were in school:
“Mine was a lady by the name of Jean Quarmby. She was my very first Sunday school teacher and she just somehow made you feel loved, accepted and special and she taught me some Christian principles that have stuck with me through thick and thin. She may be gone and in heaven, but she will definitely be not forgotten.” Dan Shaw
Reading these comments has really made our day and we’re sure for those teachers it’s done the same! If you haven’t posted about a teacher who has made a difference to your child, or a teacher you remember from school, why not do it today on Facebook or Twitter? Don’t forget the hashtag, #ShoutOutForTeachers!
